Toyota Australia has confirmed initial details for the new C-HR crossover ahead of its arrival in Australia during March or April 2024.

The new C-HR will be hybrid only; GXL and Koba models will feature a 1.8-litre unit, while the GR Sport will have a more powerful 2.0-litre setup with all-wheel drive.

The 1.8-litre hybrid drivetrain in the GXL and Koba, shared with the Corolla, produces 103kW, up 15 per cent on the 90kW you get in the outgoing model.

Meanwhile, the GR Sport will get 145kW of power and all-wheel drive thanks to an extra electric motor on the rear axle.

Pricing hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s likely the new C-HR will be more expensive than the current car.

That’s not only down to the fact it’s a more modern car, but also due to the fact it’s sourced from Turkey – which means it attracts import tariffs that don’t affect the current, Japanese-made model.

Here’s the standard equipment that will feature across the C-HR range.

Standard equipment on the GXL will include:

  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • LED headlights and daytime running lights
