Volkswagen has announced changes to its small T-Roc crossover for 2024, including a new entry-level variant and extra equipment for mid-range models.

The new entry-level T-Roc CityLife, being referred to as a special edition, has been confirmed for a September launch. Updated Style and R-Line models are due in the third quarter of 2023.

The brand has added an array of standard features to the mid-range Style and R-Line that were previously part of option packs, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

The T-Roc Style now includes satellite navigation, voice control, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for its 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, as well as a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro virtual instrument cluster.

Previously, these features were part of the Sound and Vision Package valued at $2050.

As a result of the new inclusions Volkswagen has increased pricing to $38,890 plus on-road costs for the T-Roc Style, an increase of $1790.

The T-Roc R-Line now includes features from the Luxury Package valued at $3950, which includes Nappa leather upholstery, heated front seats, as well a power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory as standard.

Volkswagen has increased pricing by $1890 to reflect these changes. The T-Roc R-Line now is now $47,090 before on-road costs.

The range now opens up at $35,990 before on-road costs for the CityLife and extends to $61,990 before on-road costs for the flagship performance T-Roc R model.

So far this year, Volkswagen has held onto a 6.6 per cent share of the VFACTS Small SUV segment.

The increase in sales could be due to Volkswagen’s improved supply from its Portuguese factory which supplies our market.

As of June 30, Volkswagen has registered 4420 T-Roc vehicles in Australia, which is an increase of over 263.5 per cent YoY.

The T-Roc has surpassed sales figures of the Toyota Corolla Cross (2966) and Hyundai Kona (4120) so far for 2023.

As of June 30, the T-Roc is the brand’s best-selling model in Australia.
