Alfa Romeo is recalling its high-performance Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio models due to an issue with their brakes.

“Vehicles equipped with carbon ceramic-matrix brakes have an independent electronic parking brake with a roll away prevention feature that can put excessive pressure on the brake rotor in extreme circumstances,” the company says in its recall notice.

“This could result in an unexpected reduction of braking performance.

“An unexpected reduction in braking performance may lead to an accident causing injury to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

  • A total of 27 vehicles are affected
  • The recall includes 2017-20 Giulia Quadrifoglio and 2018-20 Stelvio Quadrifoglio models
  • The VIN list is attached here
  • The original recall notice is attached here

The issue can be resolved with a vehicle software update.

If you have an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact an authorised Alfa Romeo dealership to have the update carried out, free of charge.

If you have any further questions, you can contact Stellantis Australia Customer Care on 1800 075 397.
