Nissan Australia has recalled 1766 examples of its 2018-2023 Leaf and Leaf (e+) due to an issue with its cruise control.

“Due to a software issue, the Cruise Control function may not operate as intended and could cause unintentional acceleration when deactivated,” the company says in its recall notice.

“An unintentional acceleration when using the Cruise Control function may increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you should contact your local Nissan dealership to schedule an appointment to have your cruise control software updated, free of charge.

If you have further questions you can contact Nissan Australia on 1800 035 035.
