Porsche Australia is recalling 258 examples of the 911 sports car as the side airbags in the seats may unnecessarily deploy in the event of an accident.

This recall affects 992-generation Porsche 911 Carrera models produced from 2021 to 2023.

“Due to a programming issue, the side airbags installed in the seats may unnecessarily deploy in the event of an accident,” said the company in its recall notice.

“Unnecessary deployment of the seat side airbag may increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.”

If you own an affected you should contact your preferred official Porsche dealer to schedule a repair of the vehicle, free of charge.
