The Rimac Nevera has set a new record for the fastest production electric vehicle at the Nurburgring.

The previous record was hold  the track pack-equipp Tesla Model S Plaid.

The Nevera clocked a 7:05:298 lap, which beats the Model S Plaid by 20 seconds. The EV ran on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tyres.

On the shorter track configuration (20.6km) the hypercar achieved a time of 7:00:928 minutes.

Nevera Previously Record

The Nevera previously set a record for the highest verified top speed of an EV, reaching 256mph (412km/h).

Earlier this year, the Rimac Nevera set 23 performance record of the Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP),Germany in

a single day including the record for fastest 0-60mph (96km/h), 100mph (160km/h) and 186mph (299km/h) acceleration times for a production vehicle.

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, the hypercar was the fastest electric production car to take on the

infamous hill climb as well as being the fastest production car to participate in the hill climb in 2023.

To celebrate the high-achieving Nevera, Rimac has released a limited-edition vehicle called the Nevera Time Attack.

Rimac will make 12 examples, which have already account for. The vehicles will be built in Croatia and Rimac has already began delivery.

The limited-edition hypercar features a black Alcantara interior with bespoke accents matching the owner’s exterior

colour choice as well as unique Time Attack stitching and a “Time Attack 1 of 12” plague.

“Breaking records with the Nevera is a testament to the innovation and dedication of the Rimac team. I’m proud of what we achieved in our first time at the Nürburgring,” said Bugatti Rimac chief technology officer Emilio Scervo.

“Our virtual performance optimisation, combined with only about 20 laps of industry pool testing, led to a great result.

“This achievement showcases the engineering prowess and adaptability of the Nevera, which was primarily designed as a hyper GT.”
