A motorcyclist has caught footage of a group of young people hanging out of a 2004 Mazda 3 high-fiving motorists while traveling on Queensland highway.

The video, captioned “Average day in Australia” by Reddit user JinsukeTheHa, shows two people with half their bodies hanging outside the window of the sedan.

The driver can be seen travelling at high speeds past the motorcycle before the bike rider has the chance to catch up to the group of teens.

As the motorbike reaches the vehicle, a man in a white shirt can be seen extending his arm for a high-five, and then giving the motorcyclist a thumbs-up.

The teens retreat back into the car as the motorbike takes an exit and the black sedan continues along the highway.

It appears the incident took place on the Mount Lindesay Highway in Logan, near Brisbane.

According to news.com.au, the Queensland Police Service was not aware of the incident but claims the vehicle was involved in an alleged theft of $15 worth of unleaded petrol on June 27.

The video didn’t go down too well with Reddit users with one commenter posting “Average day in Australia??? Suggested correction: “BELOW AVERAGE BOGANS, on an otherwise SUPERB DAY.”

“This is why the road death toll is always so high”, another commenter added.
