Australia Post is investigating after one of its drivers was caught on dashcam appearing to almost knock another motorist to the ground in his van.

Footage from Dash Cam Owners Aus, taken in Melbourne’s North West, shows the road rage incident between the Australia Post driver and the driver of a B-double truck.

“The behaviour shown in the video is completely unacceptable and falls well below the standards Australia Post expects of its team members,” an Australia Post spokesperson told CarExpert.

“It is especially disappointing given safety is a core priority and value of the organisation. Australia Post has launched a full investigation into this incident.”

The incident occurred on August 8 at the intersection of Boundary Road and Fairbairn Road in Sunshine West, about 15.6km from Melbourne’s CBD.

The video begins as the truck driver enters the roundabout after seeing a small gap in traffic, but comes to a full stop.

It’s unclear if the Australia Post driver used his horn, as audio for the video was unavailable.

Dashcam footage shows the truck driver leaving his vehicle and running towards the Australia Post van.

After reaching the window of the Australia Post van, the two drivers have an altercation.

It appears the truck driver puts his arms inside the van while arguing with the Australia Post driver.

It’s not clear what the two drivers discussed, however the alternation lasted for 15 seconds before the truck driver walked away from the van.

Once the truck driver was about one to two metres from the van, the Australia Post driver put his foot on the accelerator and clips the truck driver as he exits the roundabout.

At this stage, it’s unknown if the truck driver sustained any injuries, though he managed to avoid falling to the ground.
