Mercedes-Benz is recalling 3597 vehicles across multiple model lines due to an issue with their fuel pump.

The recall affects the following model lines:

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel delivery unit may fail causing the fuel pump to switch off,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If this occurs, it could impair the fuel supply to the engine resulting in a loss of power whilst driving.

“A loss of power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact an authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership as soon as possible to have the work carried out, free of charge.

If you have any further questions, you can contact Mercedes-Benz Australia’s Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 300 896.
